This policy explains how refunds work for payments made through Hakuu. It covers two kinds of payment: what Players pay Operators for subscriptions, memberships and perks, and what Operators pay us for the Platform.
In short
- Players: ask the server’s Operator first. They sell the membership and set its refund policy.
- Charged twice, charged after cancelling, or didn’t authorise a payment? Email us at shiroamekusu@gmail.com and we will help.
- Operators: you can cancel your plan at any time. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
1 Player purchases
- When you buy a subscription, premium membership, priority queue access or in-game perk on a server, you are buying it from that server’s Operator. The Operator sets their own refund policy, which should be shown on their store page.
- To ask for a refund, contact the Operator first. Include your in-game name, what you bought and when.
- If a refund is issued, the benefits linked to that purchase — such as name tags, queue priority and perks — are removed in game.
- Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals. You keep your benefits until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period, unless the Operator’s policy or the law says otherwise.
2 Your rights as a consumer
If you are a consumer in the UK, the law gives you rights that this policy does not take away:
- You can usually cancel a contract for digital services within 14 days of buying. If you asked for the service to start straight away, you may have to pay for what was provided before you cancelled.
- For digital content supplied immediately, you may lose the right to cancel once supply begins, if you agreed to that at checkout.
- If what you paid for is not as described, or is not provided with reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to have it put right or to a full or partial refund.
3 Payments made in error
Contact us if you were:
- charged more than once for the same purchase;
- charged after cancelling a subscription;
- charged an amount different from the price shown;
- charged for a payment you did not authorise.
We will look into it with the Operator and our payment provider. Where we confirm a charge was made in error, we will arrange for it to be refunded. If you think your payment details have been misused, contact your card issuer as well.
4 Operator plans
- Platform fees are charged in advance for each billing period. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the current period and you will not be charged again.
- We do not give refunds or credits for part of a billing period, for features you did not use, or if you stop using the Platform part-way through a period, except where:
- you were charged in error or charged twice, in which case we refund the charge in full;
- the Platform was unavailable for an extended period because of a fault on our side, in which case we will offer a credit or refund for that time;
- the law requires a refund.
- If you signed up as a consumer rather than for a business, you can cancel within 14 days of signing up. If you asked us to start providing the Platform during that time, we will refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the date you cancelled.
5 Chargebacks
Please contact the Operator or us before disputing a payment with your bank — most problems can be resolved faster that way. While a dispute is open, the benefits linked to the disputed payment may be paused. Disputes we find to be fraudulent may lead to restrictions on the account involved.
6 How to request a refund from us
Email shiroamekusu@gmail.com with:
- the name and email address used for the purchase;
- the server name (for Players) or your account email (for Operators);
- the date and amount of the payment, and the receipt or order reference if you have one;
- why you are asking for a refund.
We aim to reply within 5 working days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. Banks usually take 5 to 10 working days to show the refund on your statement.
